Challenge
The Client wanted to create an online shop to supplement (and possibly replace) his brick and mortar shop. He had a Flash site created but wanted something to start from scratch to opperate as an e-commerce site. This client admitted to not being tech savvy and needed a platform that was easy to use to sell his products and collect payments. He had a variety of inventory but didn’t have a clear system on how to manage it and separate what was being sold online versus in shop.
Solution
After meeting with the client, we agreed that a CMS would be the best solution to handle his site. I built his site using Bluehost and WordPress. I used the Divi theme by Elegant Themes and installed WooCommerce for his shop page.
After several meetings with the client, I was able to develop an inventory list with all the information I needed to set up shipping classes, product categories, and payment accounts. Due to needing a simple payment collector, I opted to use PayPal and helped the client set up and integrate his account. After everything was built, integrated, and setup, I created a simple step by step guide, equipped with screenshots, for the client so he would be able to access and fully utilize his site.
Website Redesign
Smoke Signals Taos
This was a complex project with mutliple moving parts. The client was communicating with me remotely which can add complications. The end result was a 4 page dynamic, responsive e-commerce site including over 20 products uploaded. This project required photo editing, photo creation, UI/UX design, inventory creation, marketing strategy, and PayPal account setup and integration.
